Yesterday I received my +Misfit Flash and I want to share a quick feedback about it.
I ‘m interested in this wearable buzz and in testing one of these products, but which one and why ?
I think I still didn't answer the question but I’m sure I don’t need a watch and I don’t want to drown under notifications on my wrist.
So let’s try a fitness tracker and see how I sleep and move everyday. My first love was for a +Pebble just because of the great open ecosystem around it !
But 100$ for a watch that I don’t want is a bit too expensive, so I took a look at the +Jawbone Up24 and the +Misfit 's product.
When +Misfit launch the Shine I was very impressed by their KISS approach and the sleek design, but on the other side the poor app integration was a clear win for the +Jawbone Up24 … until I tried… I’m the kind of guy who doesn’t like to have a watch on my wrist and the Jawbone up is a bit too important for me.
So let’s choose the cheapest Misfit’s product, the Flash, a 50$ plastic version of the Shine, I think it was a perfect start.
As you can see on the pictures, the design is nice, the Flash is very small and light but the finish of the product is a bit disappointing and some scratches were already on it. The device was in a little box in a kind of a paper holder and it ruined a bit the Flash. The wristband is nice but also a bit weak and you can also see some streaks on it.
The setup and app integration is simple,v*the Android App is a bit frustrating* because it's very limited comparing to the iOS version.
For now I think the Misfit ecosystem is promising. I want to see more features and app unification for sure !! (android – iOS) The ecosystem around the Shine and the Flash must be as their design – more exciting!!
I think Misfit ecosystem can be more open, let developer integrate their app with the Flash, for exemple when you receive a message from a specific friend two leds can flash for a time or let +IFTTT go side to side, not only push to other’s chanels… let use the click function to create task on your phone,… click twice to skip your Spotify song, click once to pause.
Imagine an +IFTTT trigger to light up your bedroom with Wemo.
What I need to stay in love with Misfit:
– Definitely the smart alarm feature for the android app
– More details about your days and nights
– Meal tracking
– Real +IFTTT integration
– A more Open ecosystem, push the Flash data to other app like Sleep as Android , for example…
